WW04 – Are Looks Everything?

Hoping we’re not all shallow wotas, imagine your favourite idol (or musical personality) switched bodies with someone you don’t find “visually pleasing”, would it affect your love for that idol in any way/shape/form?

In other words, when it comes to idols and idol worship, are looks everything? Now, before I go on to answer this question, I have to say, IRL, looks mean very little to me. Obviously, I’m aware of what it traditionally considered attractive and unattractive within American society, but my sense of aesthetics does not run along that same line.

Now… To answer the question. This is hard. But then not. Consider who some of my favorite idols are. Risa, Captain, and Chinami. When they first started out in this idol world, they were not the considered the most attractive. Not that they were ugly. They just weren’t… Idol pretty. Yes, that’s a better way to say that. They were civilian pretty. Not idol pretty.

Watching these girls grow up as they have, it’s hard to imagine that this is what they have grown up into. But what if they were transported into another body, one that was less attractive than the current one they inhabit? I’m not sure what would happen then. They are very entertaining, my favorite idols. Each has her personality quirks that endear themselves to me.

I’m going to answer no. This would not affect my love for my idol. Considering that these three weren’t what one considers tobe attractive when they first entered this grueling idol world, but something still attracted me to them, I’m comfortable in saying that my love for them would not change.

… But it helps a LOT that they’re smoking hot now. :3
